Region’s leading interactive agency launches digital presence for Middle East’s most iconic brands

July 5, 2009, Dubai—Flip Media is holding its position as the region’s leader in interactive marketing, maintaining thought leadership and continued growth in one of the most challenging economic climates the Middle East has ever faced.

Amidst the headlines of economic doom within the marketing industry, Flip Media has had a strong start to the year thanks to new business wins across the region, the launch of websites for some of the region’s most iconic brands, and continued long-term relationships with their key clients, including twofour54, Sorouh and du.

“The launch of bilingual websites for brands like twofour54, Sorouh, Istithmar World and Heroes of the UAE has been a great testament to our ability to help our regional clients with global ambitions deliver websites to an international standard,” says Paul Zwarts, Flip Media’s Head of Delivery.

Flip has also developed unique initiative like www.kalam.tv, a video sharing platform for Al Aan TV, which has received over 160,000 unique visitors and served over 580,000 videos since its beta launch in March in Arabic, Farsi and Urdu.

According to Mazen Abou Hatab, Account Director, this site has served as the perfect showcase for Navisite, Flip Media’s proprietary content management system “Navisite has been designed to enable our clients to manage their content in multiple languages in a user-friendly framework, and a large-scale media portal with the technical and linguistic demands of Kalam helps show just what we can do.”

Despite the economic slowdown, Flip Media is looking at the future with cautious optimism. “Business doesn’t stop in a downturn. People are still buying and selling products and services and need to get their message out. The big change is that clients want more accountability and are getting smarter about where they spend. With this increased focused on accountability and ROI, the digital space is a great option for marketers,” said Yousef Tuqan Tuqan, CEO of Flip Media.

Spurred by the strong response to Flip’s recent offering of free introductory digital marketing seminars, Tuqan says clients are stepping up and looking at digital in a new way. The seminars are part of an effort to spread the message on the advantages of digital marketing.

“Our goal is to show companies and brands that the Internet offers true measurable results. If you are not marketing and speaking to your customers online, you are missing a significant communication channel,” says Tuqan.
