18th May 2006, Dubai (UAE): Flip Media has been appointed as the online arm for the Bahrain based Newspaper, Akhbar Al Khaleej.
In addition to having been the first Arabic newspaper to exist in the region, it will now also be the first Arabic newspaper in Bahrain to go online. This decision was after the realization of the high demands of up the minute information and easy accessibility.
Mr. Anwar Abdul Rahman, Chairman of Akhbar Al Khaleej says, “As internet usage increases amongst young people more than ever before, it is natural that they require the latest updated information at their fingertips. With Akhbar Al Khaleej going online, this demand will be met. We have a strong readership from a few people in Iraq and also people who have left Bahrain, in countries like Canada and the US, and this will enable them to read the latest stories and information.”
The online website to be produced by Flip Media would be a fully functional online newspaper and it will be highly interactive and offers substantial researching facilities.
