Flip sets Bahrain International Circuit website loose in cyberspace

The global media launch for the ticketing season of the Bahrain Grand Prix 2005 kicking off today, sees the website for 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East' go live

20041012_PR_F1.jpgAs ticketing season for the Bahrain Grand Prix goes live, Flip Media, the Circuit’s interactive agency of record, launches perhaps the most interactive of Bahrain International Circuit’s new-media marketing tools - the Bahrain International Circuit website.

The website, www.bahraingp.com, aims at drawing the viewer into the experience of the Bahrain International Circuit. A virtual tour enables the viewers and potential ticket-buyers to see exactly where they will be seated during the race and what their angle of view will be, so the users can make informed decisions about what tickets to purchase.

The site also has world-class facilities for online ticketing. In partnership with Batelco, for the payment gateways and a state-of the-art online ticketing software, Flip Media has incorporated an online ticketing system into the design of the site. This facility makes the Bahrain Grand Prix and other events held at the circuit accessible to visitors from across the Middle East and even beyond.

Complete with a merchandising section, an image library, leading news from the world of international racing, as well as a sleek design that corresponds directly with the elements of the offline advertising campaign, perhaps the crowning glory of the site is the virtual track. A virtual drive-through gives the viewer a clear idea of the intricacies of the track and gives a clear picture of the track as seen by the driver of a formula one racing car.

“Working on the Bahrain International Circuit site has been exhilarating for all of us at Flip. With our experience in the automotive industry and clients such as Mercedes-Benz, Gargash Enterprises Dubai, Abdul Rahman Albisher & Zaid Alkazemi Kuwait, Emirates Motor Company Abu Dhabi, SIXT UAE, we have an understanding of the interactive needs of the automotive industry as well as the capability to provide these services to our clients. The Bahrain International Circuit gave us the chance to take our ideas a step further and the result has been phenomenal, “says Martin Diessner, CEO, Flip Media.

The official website went live yesterday at a press conference as part of our 2005 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix ticket launch campaign. Demonstrations were given to members of the media and VIP guests. The new site has been completely redesigned and enhanced with user-friendly functionalities, such as online ticketing, e-Commerce enabled merchandise shopping, an interactive race map and a virtual drive-through of the Circuit. The objective is to sell tickets for all our events, as well as create regional and international awareness using the website as our primary channel,” said Rayan Kazerooni, Business Development Manager, BIC.
