Flip Media’s award-winning year goes global with 5 Summit Creative Awards

Flip wins 1 Bronze, 3 Silvers and 1 Gold in international competition

Dubai: Monday, May 12, 2008
Flip Media has made a strong showing at the 2008 Summit Creative Awards with 5 awards, including the UAE’s only gold.
Flip Media’s work for Dubai-based property developer Nakheel earned them Silver for last year’s acclaimed “Make a Wish” Ramadan campaign and Gold for the Marina Residences microsite. Flip Media’s own website won Silver in the Self-Promotion category, and their microsites for Toyota’s FJ Cruiser and “My City Soul” won Silver and Bronze respectively.

Lina Naifeh, Nakheel’s Senior Manager - Online Strategy, said “it’s fascinating how a simple idea that was developed by our partners at Flip evolved into an award winning project that engaged thousands in the Middle East to become part of the Ramadan ‘Make a Wish’ experience.”

The Summit Creative Awards recognizes worldwide the work of advertising, interactive, video production, graphic design and public relations companies with annual billings under $30 million. The 2008 competition drew entries from 25 countries across 5 continents, and was judged by an international panel of leading industry professionals.

These awards continue an already impressive year for Flip Media’s creative accolades, having already dominated the online category of the 2nd Dubai Lynx Awards in April, the leading creative advertising competition for the Middle East and North Africa, bagging 4 of the 15 awards given. Flip Media has previously won Summit Awards in 2005 and 2006 for its work for Mercedes-Benz and Emaar.

According to Account Director Mazen Abou Hatab, these awards represent “just the beginning of our success stories with our clients, and a standard to maintain and raise. Combining aesthetics with functionality is an on-going challenge in our industry. I am really happy to see that our work’s appreciation has extended its reach to the other end of the globe.”
