TECOM shut down this morning our complete office. Phones donwn, no fax lines, internet cut off.
Results: 42 people could not work, a dozen internet sites went offline, damage: A couple of thousand Dollars.
Reason: We apparently did not pay our bills.
The truth: We paid our bills, TECOM lost our checks, and when we sent a replacement check, they lost that too.
My comment: Dear TECOM, don’t worry, we will not shut you down, although you have not paid your long time over due bills for the development, hosting, Google adword and online media campaigns for one of your project websites. Nope, we will just continue with our daily support, night shifts and weekend work, even if you decide to lose our invoices or whatever other reasons you might have not to pay on time.
Again, please don’t worry, we will not do the same to you: Disconnecting you from the rest of the world without any notice, although you have not paid us, where we did.
Confident? We are not.
BTW: Do we need a no-objection letter for a Diesel powered generator with a satellite backup link in case you shut us down again?
