Celebrating Ganesh Chathurthi - the traditional way!

On the 16th of September, Flip Bombay had a blast celebrating Ganesh Chathurthi the traditional way.

On the 16th of September, Flip Bombay had a blast celebrating Ganesh Chathurthi the traditional way. Well it started off with us taking a step forward in getting some recreational activities planned out to break the formal mundane work flow and we came up with this idea to get the traditions flowing in. So this started, as usual with Veena yelling into everyone’s ears to come in traditionally dressed. (For those who don’t know, that’s generally the sign when anything needs to start up).

So 16th dawned with everyone dressing to their traditional best. The day was full of enthusiasm and very cultural flow of words passing by, which generally is not the case. Each and everyone came properly dressed except ofcourse the media team whom we have always thought are deaf to hear these instructions and can block Veena’s screams.

Most of the team turned up in the traditional way, those who did not, were to face some punishments decided by Me & Veena. So post lunch, there was a session where in the Best Dressed People were awarded some prize and the people who backed out were given the tasks to sing or dance. However, this sounds more like the people giving the punishments were to suffer than the punished. Anyways, after listening to those singing sensations, we had an ice-cream party, everyone relished the Sitaphal (Custard Apple) flavour from Naturals Ice Cream Parlour.

The Best Dressed Male Award went to Nilesh (Aka Nilu / Shiro) Patel and the Best Dressed Female Award went to the ever sweet Nargis.

Finally the day ended with photo-session rounds. Was wackier than it sounds. With the entire team spirit flowing out and people giving their modeling careers a test.

All is well that ends well!

Sam

Loved it. Its something that we all had a blast. And mind you, the work flow was also the same hectic one, but enjoyed it thoroughly. Looking forward for more.

Really enjoyed it not only for getting the best dressed male award, but truly for this different event which involved everyone together for enjoyment apart from regular work.

Whoomp… that’s one of my unforgettable day. As a punishment they wanted me to sing so i screamed something. On the same day I bought the traditional Clothes… don’t want to take risk again.
