Hi Ekaterina,

I dont think its available for pre-paid, but with a 2,000 AED down payment you can convert into "normal" subscriber base - which is convenient for roaming (out of country) use anyways.

In the future, DU will also provide mobile comms - so competition should show improvements in the market.

Good luck!

Hi,

Finally I met a person with the same problem like mine. I'm using Pre-paid card of Etisalat. I already activated GPRS. I have called Etisalat's call center for 5 tomes to send me gprs settings for Sony Ericsson K700i. Unfortunately the brouser settings that they were sending to me were invalid. What I mean is that for example the IP was 12 times "0". It is funny.

Do you know if GPRS PC connection is available for Pre-Paid subscribers?

Thank you so much for your support.

Re the Etisalat 3g service

Has anyone else been sent a huge bill for the useage ?? I have been using it since December, and had not received a bill. I then had a nasty sms on my phone to tell me that my account had not been settled.

When I went to Etisalat, the total bill was ---- wait for it Dhs 12450,- I nearly choked to death... I asked why so high, as I only use it at home for checking emails, as I have internet in the office and a wireless network downstairs in my building.

Their only answer was, pay the bill and then we will look into it... I am now waiting on a phone call from them to answer my query..

Anyone else have a similar experience with them ?

3G is so overrated. I believe Etisalat should take a page out of Philadelphia. The first complete Wifi City. Every lamp post has wifi access points, so in essencce you dont need 3G as you are on a 54mbps data connection. And with motorola ready with a wifi/gsm phone prototype, its just a matter of time before 3G has a quick and early exit.

But in the mean time, lets hope with the competition Etisalat will clean up their act.
