Mercedes-Benz Middle East contracts Flip Media to produce a virtual online motor show for the German car manufacturer. Consumers can now experience the Mercedes-Benz stand at the Middle East Motor Show 2003 through the internet.
17th December 2003, Dubai (UAE): The German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz, part of the DaimlerChrysler Group, has launched a virtual online motor show. The state-of-the-art multimedia experience of the Mercedes-Benz stand can be viewed at www.mb-me.com/vmsConsumers who cannot attend the Dubai event can still be part of a spectacular experience utilising a unique virtual show stand: 3D animations with exterior and interior views of 12 top selling Mercedes-Benz cars, including this year's show stopper the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, and a virtual tour around the stand provide an almost live experience to those visiting over the net. A live web cam broadcasts in real time from the show adding value to the consumer's browsing experience.
"With this English and Arabic online micro site we offer a realistic Motor Show experience to everybody who didn't have the chance to visit the event," says Arndt Schmidtmayer, responsible for regional Internet and CRM at DaimlerChrysler Middle East. "We attracted already more than 35,000 page hits during the show and we hope for many more to follow in the next couple of weeks."
The site was developed by Flip Media which specialises in Flash Multimedia design and online marketing. Dinesh Lalvani, founder and CEO of Flip Media comments: "We are proud to launch the virtual stand during the Motor Show, as we had only limited time to take all 3D imagery and then stitching it together for a real virtual user experience." He adds: "This online representation of the Mercedes-Benz stand clearly shows the benefits of integrating offline marketing efforts into the online world, reaching a much broader target audience over the internet."
