Job Description

The business analyst will have experience developing and implementing innovative digital strategies. The candidate will work Flip’s consulting team, responsible for application requirements analysis, business process analysis, application QA testing and user training for SharePoint based Intranet and Intranet Implementation. This position requires excellent analytical, presentation, and writing skills to effectively communicate with senior leadership. This position is also responsible for the specific phases of client work and will be work with on shore and off shore teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the project leadership to document the solution’s vision and the project’s scope
  • Conduct customer/vendor analysis, and client interviews and workshops
  • Gather requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, event lists, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis, and/or viewpoints
  • Experience creating BRD’s and process flow diagrams
  • Conduct secondary research, data collection and business analysis
  • Use research and analysis to identify emerging approaches, technology, and solutions that can be leveraged in the implementation of identified requirements
  • Work with software and system engineers to develop solution design documentation
  • Develop and present solutions and recommendations
  • Collaborate with team on change management communications planning, identify potential roadblocks to change and the messages that will help facilitate the change

  • Experience working in large complex integration projects with multiple business analysis work streams
  • Experience performing current and future state analysis for digital solutions
  • Interviewing skills, ability to talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential requirements information
  • Listening skills, to understand what people say and to detect what they might be hesitant to say
  • Analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
  • Facilitation skills, to lead requirements elicitation workshops
  • Observational skills, to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for elicitation
  • Communication skills, experience dealing with local and geographically dispersed teams
  • Well versed in Usability Studies from the end Users perspective, with a focus on visual and digital solutions
  • Strong writing skills, to communicate information effectively to customers, marketing, managers, and technical staff
  • Ability to create documentation that is leveled for both business and technical users
  • Ability to develop and execute test scripts for SharePoint Intranet/Internet Portal development projects
  • Ability to develop training materials and conduct training for SharePoint Intranet/Internet Portals
  • Organizational skills, to work with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information
  • Interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as customers, product management, and engineering)
  • An understanding of contemporary requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, verification, and management practices and the ability to apply them in practice; familiarity with requirements engineering books and resources
  • Knowledge of software development life-cycle practices, principles and techniques
  • Knowledge of standard research and analysis methodologies, frameworks and techniques
  • Digital background with knowledge of: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, content management, testing/QA, SEO, analytics, ad serving, and usability
  • Experience with mobile / tablet products is a plus
