Dubai International Film Festival 2008: DIFF makes a difference
Dubai International Film Festival puts the "international" in "International Film Festival".
The Dubai Film Festival is still in considered a new event (2008 will be its 5th birthday), yet it has already made a huge impact in the film industry. It draws, not only, flocks of movie lovers, but also many famous actors popularized by American cinema. It is open to the public mostly because it is more of a public service, than anything else. Its motto is “Bridging Cultures. Meeting Minds.”, to which this festival is accomplishing by making the International Film Festival truly international with each day having a designated theme such as: Arabian Nights, Cinema of Asia, and Cinema of Africa, just to name a few.
